Global Aviation is an Air Transport Organization, with headquarters in Gibraltar, South Africa, and Irvine, California. The main business of Global Aviation is the leasing of and operating of aircraft. Established in 2001, at this time, the Global Aviation fleet comprises 13 McDonnell Douglas DC-9, 3 McDonnell Douglas DC-10 and 2 McDonnell Douglas MD-80 Aircraft, which fly in different areas of North, Central and Southern Africa, the Middle East and Europe. ==History==
Established in 2001, Global Airways's main strategy is to offer fully crewed, maintained and insured aircraft (ACMI). Global airways operated flights between Johannesburg and Miami until 2004, citing 'political commitments" as a reason for ceasing operations on that route. In August 2013 CEO Ron Finger announced plans to resume services between Johannesburg and Miami via Cape Town in late 2013 or early 2014 using an Airbus A330 on that route.〔TNW pick of the week: Flights to link JNB, CPT with Miami〕
